Hygiene is a practice of desirable personal behaviors, i.e., hand-washing with soap before eating and after using toilet, taking regular bath, and maintaining body cleanliness, that will promote good health and prevent sickness. Hygiene promotion is planned interventions aimed to encourage individuals to practice most of the time, acceptable hygiene behaviors that will allow themselves and others to live in a clean environment.

In dealing with hygiene/sanitation problems Qoysdaryeel will operatein the folowing ways:
(a) Conducting training workshops on Hygiene/sanitation promotion for 36 families
(b) Carrying out 3 cleaning campaigns at the the IDP camp. 
(c) providing support for construction of 12 sanitary latrines with proper ventilation for poorest 36 families at Qunyar-dega IDPs Camp in Burao district.

Digging of 5 shallow wells

Five shallow wells were dug, lined with concrete of 102 cm in thickness, covered with cover slab of 15 cm in thickness and 2 M in diameter, the average depth of the shallow wells is 12 M and  five hand pumps were installed, tested and handed over to the community, in regard to the project final monitoring and evaluation study undertaken by Qoys Daryeel (Family Care NGO).
